Abstract:
A device (10) for manufacturing a coil spring has: a metal core (11) for winding a wire (W); a supply mechanism (12) for supplying the wire (W) toward the metal core (11); guide members (15, 16) for guiding the wire (W); a chuck (13) for affixing a tip (W1) of the wire (W); and a clamp mechanism (71). The clamp mechanism (71) sandwiches both sides of the wire (W) before the tip (W1) of the wire (W) reaches the metal core (11). Furthermore, this clamp mechanism (71) is rotated about the fulcrum (80) by a rotating means and can be slid in a direction along an axial line (X1) of the metal core (11) by a sliding means. In a state in which the wire (W) is sandwiched by the clamp mechanism (71), the clamp mechanism (71) is rotated, and the clamp mechanism (71) is slid as necessary, thereby forming a bent part (W2) for a negative pitch portion of a coil spring in part of the wire (W).
