For the purpose of providing a device for manufacturing a glass body, whereby a decrease in operation rate or an increase in maintenance cost can be suppressed, the present invention is a device for manufacturing a glass body, for manufacturing a glass body by dehydrating soot having a porous part and converting the soot to transparent glass, the device for manufacturing a glass body being provided with: a first heating furnace provided with a furnace core tube for accommodating soot, and a first heater, a dehydrating gas being supplied into the furnace core tube, and the soot being heated by the first heater at a first processing temperature lower than the softening point of the porous part; a second heating furnace provided with a structure configured so as to accommodate the soot, and a second heater, the soot being heated by the second heater at a second processing temperature equal to or higher than the softening temperature; and a conveyance container configured so as to be capable of connecting to each of the first heating furnace and the second heating furnace while maintaining airtightness with respect to the atmosphere, and so as to accommodate and retain the soot and convey the soot between the first heating furnace and the second heating furnace.
