Abstract:

A device for manufacturing a three-dimensional shaped object, which forms a hardened layer by sintering or melt solidification of prescribed locations of a material layer provided within a chamber (6) by irradiating the prescribed locations with a light beam, is provided with the chamber (6), a transmitting window (8), a discharge opening (10), and a cover member (11). The transmitting window (8) is provided in the chamber (6) and allows the light beam to pass through. The discharge opening (10) is provided around the transmitting window (8) and discharges an inert gas (16) toward the inside of the chamber (6). The cover member (11) is provided below the discharge opening (10), covers the discharge opening (10), and is formed in a circular shape. A space (12) for the inert gas (16) to pass through is provided between the cover member (11) and the transmitting window (8).
