Title:
DEVICE FOR MEASURING AN ELECTRIC CURRENT THAT FLOWS THROUGH A STRIP CONDUCTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2001069269
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for measuring an electric current (I) that flows through a strip conductor (1). The inventive device comprises a measuring conductor (3) which extends along the current flow direction and in the proximity of a measuring section (2) of the strip conductor (1). The one end of said measuring conductor is directly and electrically connected to the one end of the measuring section (2). The remaining end of said measuring conductor is provided with a first measured value tap (4). The device comprises a second measured value tap (5) which is electrical connected to the remaining end of the measuring section (2). The aim of the invention is to freely select the dimensions of the strip conductor (1) and the measuring conductor (3) and especially to use a conventional strip conductor (1) and to better use said device and have a greater measuring accuracy at the same time. According to the invention, the measuring section (2) is rectilinear. The second measured value tap (5) is directly connected to the measuring section (2). The measuring conductor (3) is essentially currentless and a voltage (U) is picked up on the measured value taps (4, 5) as a measure for the current (I) to be measured.
