Title:
DEVICE FOR MEASURING FREQUENCY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2002099443
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for determining a signal frequency based on a determined number of signal impulses in a time interval. Said device comprises a counter (19) having an upstream (4) AND gate, which determines the number of signal impulses, a reference clock (17), a control unit (1), data processing means and a flip-flop element (2). The flip-flop output (23) is coupled with the reference clock and an input of the AND gate. The measuring signal is located at the other input of the AND gate and at the clock input of the flip-flop (2). The second flip-flop input (22) is connected to a control output of the control unit (1). The impulses are counted when the flip-flop output is in the high position. The invention also relates to an element which ensures that the signal impulse responsible for switching the flip-flop output to high is not counted. Said element is preferably an inverter (3) located between the clock output (21) of the flip-flop element (2) and the signal input (5) of the device.
