Abstract:
A device for measuring the rate of oxygen consumption by microorganisms in liquid media comprises a through chamber (1), electrochemical pick-ups of the oxygen partial pressure at the inlet (A) and the outlet (B) of the chamber (1) and an oxygen consumption rate calculating unit (20). The pick-ups are made as a single unit consisting of a casing (5) with semipermeable membranes (6, 7) filled with electrolytes and of two cathodes (11, 12) and an anode (13) inside the casing (5).
