Abstract:
A method for operating a system for acquiring energy from a fluid flow, in particular an airflow or water flow, wherein the system has a drive train (1) which comprises: a superimposition mechanism (10) with an input branch (11), an output branch (12) and a control branch (13), wherein power extracted from the fluid flow via the input branch (11) is conducted to the superimposition mechanism (10), a control machine (20) which operates either as a motor or as a generator in the control branch (13), a frequency converter (40) coupled to the control machine (20), and a generator (30) in the output branch (12), wherein the transmission ratio between the input branch (11) and the output branch (12) can be changed by means of the control machine (20), wherein power is extracted from the drive line (1) by means of a brake device (70) which is arranged in a branch which branches off between the input branch and the output branch, when the power which is output to the control machine (20) by the superimposition mechanism (10) is larger than the rated power of the control machine (20) or of the frequency converter (40).
