Abstract:
A device and a method for controlling an internal combustion engine, wherein the spark-retard of an ignition timing is started for warming a catalyst after the engine is started, and value 1 is set to a fuel amount increasing flag (F1) to start fuel injection amount increasing correction when the ignition timing (Ѳ) is retarded to a threshold (Ѳref). When a throttle opening (TH) is increased and a specified time (t3) is passed after the increase of the throttle opening (TH) is completed, the fuel injection amount increasing correction is completed. Accordingly, the fuel injection amount increasing correction can be performed asnecessary. As a result, a fuel consumption can be improved and the deterioration of emission can be suppressed.
