Abstract:
Provided are a device and a method for controlling a reducing agent supply device, with which an injection control can be initiated after suitable thawing has been achieved, when a liquid reducing agent has frozen, even when the start switch for an internal combustion engine has been turned on but the engine has not been started for a long time. In this method for controlling a reducing agent supply device, when a liquid reducing agent is frozen, the liquid reducing agent can be thawed by a heating device, and the injection of the liquid reducing agent into the exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine can be controlled. When the internal combustion engine is started up and the rotational frequency of the internal combustion engine exceeds a prescribed threshold value, a determination is made regarding whether the liquid reducing agent must be thawed, and the amount of time necessary for thawing is calculated, and the injection control of the liquid reducing agent is permitted when thawing is not required or when thawing is completed.
