Abstract:

This cooling device is provided with a plurality of nozzles which spray cooling water towards the upper surface and/or the lower surface of a hot-rolled steel sheet directly after the steel sheet has been rolled by a rolling stand in a hot finish rolling mill. The nozzles are provided in upper and lower guides, or next to the downstream sides of the guides. The nozzle spray distance changes in accordance with the positions of the nozzles in the rolling direction. The spray angle of the nozzle in the position in which the nozzle spray distance is greatest is smaller than the spray angle of the nozzle in the position in which the nozzle spray distance is smallest. The spray angles of the nozzles remain the same or become smaller as the nozzle spray distance increases.
