A device and a method for cutting industrial waste, the device capable of finely cutting, irrespective of hardness, the industrial waste such as a very wide variety of industrial articles, old materials, and living articles such as old furniture so as to be easily disposed off and, particularly, capable of very efficiently performing the difficult cutting operation of soft material, comprising a fixed jaw (A) having a through−part (2), a chevron−shaped edge part (6) passed through the through−part (2) midway in the depth direction, a movable cutting body (B) swingable relative to the fixed jaw (A), and filler material (W₀) filled into the through−part (2) allowing the chevron−shaped edge part (6) to be passed through the through−part (2) and capable of pressing both faces of the edge of the chevron−shaped edge part (6) with an appropriate pressing force.
