Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device and method for detecting a liquid leak into a battery pack by using a gyro sensor and a moisture detection sensor, wherein, in order to detect a cooling water leak which may occur when a pipe for cooling water supplied for the purpose of cooling (heat dissipation) within a battery pack is damaged, the position where a leak may occur is identified according to the tilt of the battery pack by using a gyro sensor, and whether a leak has occurred is determined on the basis of the difference between the upper and lower side temperatures in the corresponding area by using a moisture detection sensor, whereby: the accuracy of leak detection according to the position and tilt of the battery pack can be increased; and in particular, the moisture detection sensor is turned on and operated only for an area where leak occurrence detection is required, so that unnecessary energy consumption can be prevented.
