Abstract:
A label-detecting sensor is provided downstream of a platen roller. The sensor distance, i.e. the distance between the platen roller and the label-detecting sensor, is less than the outer circumference of the platen roller. When an actual platen-roller rotation amount accompanying printing on a liner-free label exceeds a set platen-roller rotation amount corresponding to the aforementioned sensor distance, if the label-detecting sensor has not yet detected said liner-free label, the liner-free label is determined to have gotten caught in the platen roller.
