Provided is a device for drawing a metallic tube capable of adequately applying a lubricating oil to the inner surface of a tube when drawing is to be performed, and capable of preventing scorching. A drawing device in which a metallic stock tube (2) passes between a die (10) for molding an outer surface and a plug (11) for molding an inner surface, whereby drawing work is performed; wherein the drawing device is characterized in that a measurement is made of the elapsed time from the time at which the supplying of a lubricating oil (L) to the surface of the plug (11) is stopped until the metallic stock tube (2) is set in a drawing position between the die (10) and the plug (11) and can be drawn; and a control means (31) is provided for performing a control so that the metallic stock tube (2) is not drawn when the measured elapsed time exceeds a predetermined allowed time, and for initiating drawing when the measured elapsed time is within the predetermined allowed time.
