Abstract:
Disclosed are a device and a method for highly efficient preparation of a superfine spherical metal powder by means of a drop-by-drop centrifugal atomization process. The device comprises a housing (20), a crucible (2) and a powder collecting region disposed in the housing (20), and a rotating disc (8) having an embedded structure, and disposed in the powder collecting region. A material having poor thermal conductivity is selected as a base portion of the rotating disc (8), and a metal material having a droplet wetting angle of less than 90º is selected and embedded into the base portion of the rotating disc (8) as an atomizing surface (23) of the rotating disc (8). A concentric groove (25) is provided on the atomizing surface (23), and a vent hole (24) is provided on the rotating disc (8). The method for highly efficient preparation of a superfine spherical metal powder by means of a drop-by-drop centrifugal atomization process mainly combines a uniform droplet spray process with a centrifugal atomization process, and represents a breakthrough with regard to conventional metal splitting techniques in that the molten metal splits in a fibrous manner. Thus, the method achieves highly efficient preparation of a superfine spherical metal powder having narrow particle size distribution, high sphericity, good fluidity, excellent spreadability, uniform and controllable size, and no satellite drops, and is suitable for industrial production.
