Abstract:
A method for manufacturing wet wipes has: a step in which ridge regions (PA, PB) raised along the conveyance direction (MD) are formed in sheets (71, 72) by causing each of the sheets (71, 72) to pass through between upper folding plates (52-55) and a lower folding plate (51) and folding the sheet multiple times on itself; a step in which each of the sheets (71, 72) having the ridge regions (PA, PB) formed therein is impregnated with a predetermined chemical solution; and a step in which each of the sheets (71, 72) having been impregnated with the predetermined chemical solution is stacked on each other. After passing through between the upper folding plates (52-55) and the lower folding plate (51), each of the sheets (71, 72) makes contact at a surface thereof with a conveyance roller (2), the surface being located opposite an extended plane (S) across the surface having the ridge region (PA, PB) formed therein, the extended plane (S) being a plane obtained by extending the surface of the lower folding plate (51).
