Abstract:
A marking device 1 for edible objects is provided with a transport device 20 for transporting edible objects, a detection unit 210 for detecting the edible objects, and a laser processing unit 220 for forming a marking pattern on an edible object by scanning a laser light, wherein the transport device 20 sequentially transports the edible objects to the detection unit 210 and the laser processing unit 220. The detection unit 210 captures an image of an edible object and acquires orientation information pertaining to the orientation of the edible object. The laser processing unit 220 stores in a storage unit, in advance, a plurality of items of marking procedure information pertaining to a marking pattern formation procedure while associating same with mutually different items of orientation information, and forms a marking pattern on an edible object by means of the marking procedure information extracted from the storage unit on the basis of the orientation information acquired by the detection unit 210.
