Abstract:
A device for measuring the weight, etc. of a traveling vehicle is configured so that the device measures the wheel load, the axle load, the number of the axles, the total weight, the advance direction, etc. of a vehicle passing over the device and so that the device is compact. The device is provided with: a load plate (20) substantially oblong in shape in plan view, the load plate (20) being capable of being placed on a road surface, etc. and enabling at least one of the left and right wheels of a vehicle, etc. to pass thereover; four measuring blocks (15) for supporting the four corners of the load plate (20); and a base section (10) to which the measuring blocks (15) are affixed. The measuring blocks (15) each comprise an affixation section (16) affixed to the base section (10) and also comprises a measuring section (17) extending in a cantilever shape from the affixation section (16), and the measuring sections (17) support the load plate (20). When a traveling vehicle passes over the load plate (20), the instantaneous displacement of the measuring sections (17) is measured using an optical sensor, and the instantaneous load and acceleration are calculated from the instantaneous displacement. The static weight, etc. of said wheel can be derived from the calculated instantaneous load and acceleration and from the measured value of the acceleration of the base section measured by an acceleration sensor.
