Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for peeling elongate material (2) to be peeled, having: a cutting device (7) containing a knife blade (8) for peeling the material (2) to be peeled; a transport device (1) for transporting the material (2) to be peeled from a first peeling station (4) to a second peeling station (5), the material (2) to be peeled being peeled at the peeling stations (4, 5) by means of the cutting device (7); and a cleaning device (9) for cleaning the knife blades (8) of the cutting device (7). The cleaning device (9) comprises means for outputting a cleaning fluid jet onto the knife blade (9) via a rinsing nozzle (10). A compressor unit is provided such that - a single cleaning fluid jet consisting of a gas/cleaning fluid mixture, or - a single cleaning fluid jet consisting of a cleaning gas or of a cleaning fluid, - a first cleaning fluid jet consisting of a cleaning fluid and a further, second cleaning jet consisting of a gas under pressure is emitted from the rinsing nozzle (10).
