Abstract:
Disclosed are a device and a method for preparing pure titanium by means of electrolysis-chlorination-electrolysis, wherein same belong to the field of producing the metal titanium by means of an electrolytic process. In a first electrolytic cell (1), a molten alkali metal chloride, an alkaline earth metal chloride, aluminum chloride or a mixture thereof is used as an electrolyte, and in a second electrolytic cell (2), a molten alkali metal chloride, an alkaline earth metal chloride or a mixture thereof is used as an electrolyte; Cl2 produced at the anode of the first electrolytic cell (1) enters a chlorination reactor (3) in which a raw material TiCxOy or TiCxOyNz is stored via a first gas-guide tube (5), so as to chlorinate the raw material into a TiCl4 gas at a temperature of 200-600ºC; the gas is introduced into the cathode of a second electrolytic cell (2) via a second gas-guide tube (6), and is further electrolyzed into the metal titanium with a high purity by utilizing the solubility of TiCl4 in the second electrolytic cell (2); and at the same time, the Cl2 produced at the anode is further recycled to the chlorination reactor (3) to continuously participate in the chlorination of TiCxOy or TiCxOyNz. The method has a simple process, and is clean and efficient; and at the same time, the by-products obtained from the first electrolytic cell can be precisely tailored according to demands, thus further improving the economic benefits.
