Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for producing formed ice pieces, comprising a supply container (1) for providing raw ice material; a drive system (9) and press units (4). Each press unit has the following: a press nest (6) mounted downstream of an associated outlet opening (13) of the supply container and a mould chamber (7) comprising a negative mould of a formed ice piece to be produced; a ram (5) which can be driven by a drive system and which is designed to be introduced into the supply container in a feed direction and to be moved towards the outlet opening and through the latter to the press nest, such that the ram conveys raw ice material from the supply container into the mould chamber of the press nest and compresses the raw ice material there into a formed ice piece; and an ejection device (19) which is designed to eject the formed ice piece from the mould chamber. The invention also relates to a method for producing formed ice pieces.
