Abstract:
A mobile device and method for registering a home appliance in a server are provided. The mobile device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a communication module; a memory that stores at least one instruction; and at least one processor connected to the memory, and the mobile device can control a home appliance by means of the at least one processor that: acquires identification information and physical address information of a home appliance from the home appliance by executing the at least one instruction; transmits, to a server via the communication module, a registration request for requesting to register the home appliance in correspondence to a user account having the mobile device registered therein, together with the acquired identification information and physical address information; transmits, to the home appliance, a notification indicating that the home appliance has been registered in the server; and transmits control information regarding the home appliance to the server in response to receiving a user input for controlling the home appliance, and by means of the the server that transmits the control information to the home appliance on the basis of the identification information and the physical address information.
