Abstract:
Disclosed are a device and a method for ripping gum of a conveyor belt having excellent work efficiency compared with that of conventional devices and methods, capable of reducing workload of workers and danger to workers, and capable of substantially completely and sufficiently uniformly cutting off gum around each of steel cords regardless of skill of workers. Specifically disclosed is a device for ripping gum of a conveyor belt separating each of steel cords embedded in the gum of the conveyor belt and stripping off the gum remaining around the steel cords after separation. The device comprises a V-shaped cutting blade (1) for separating each of the steel cords having upper and lower end portions protruding in the traveling direction of the conveyor belt and a cylindrical cutting blade (2) for stripping off the gum remaining around each of the steel cords.
