Abstract:
A device and a method for sealing a pressure air blowing hood capable of maintaining the sealability of the pressure air blowing hood provided above a sintering material charging layer (2) charged in a downward sucking type sintering machine and having a high durability, wherein a sealing piece (15) formed of a composite material comprising a hard rigid body (15a) and an elastic body (15b) is installed on the skirt lower end part (13) of the pressure air blowing hood so as to be in slidable contact with the surface layer of the sintering material charging layer (2) in the sealing device of the pressure air blowing hood provided above the sintering material charging layer (2) charged in the downward sucking type sintering machine.
