The present invention relates to a device and method for sensing an earthquake by using an acceleration sensor, and more particularly, to a device and method for sensing an earthquake by using an acceleration sensor, wherein the reliability of acceleration data acquired from an acceleration sensor is improved, and whether an earthquake has occurred is sensed on the basis of an amount of change in previous acceleration data.
