Abstract:
An objective of the present embodiment is to enable reception of real-time video streaming on a mobile device with the computing capacity of the mobile device, while maintaining user quality of experience (QoE) even under bandwidth constraints. To this end, a deep neural network (DNN)-based SR is applied to a small number of pre-selected frames, and the resolution of the remaining frames is improved using the frames to which SR has been applied, wherein the frame to which SR is to be applied is selected within a preconfigured quality margin. The present invention provides a device and a method for SR acceleration, in which, for real-time video streaming according to the computing capacity of a mobile device and under video-specific constraints, a server transfers multiple options for a deep neural network and a cache profile including SR application information, and the mobile device is capable of selecting an option appropriate for the computing capacity.
