Abstract:
Provided are a device and a method for treating ballast water for a ship, capable of being mounted on the ship and also capable of efficiently killing or inactivating microorganisms in the ballast water discharged from the ship or introduced into the ship. The device for treating ballast water for a ship comprises: a filter (1) disposed in a circular tube shape so as to surround an axis and provided so as to be able to rotate about the axis; a nozzle (2) for water to be treated, causing the water to be treated to flow toward the outer peripheral surface of the filter (1); a case (3) provided so as to surround the filter (1) and having an outer tube section (31) having provided therein a nozzle opening (21) for the nozzle (2) for water to be treated; a filtered-water flow path (7) for delivering filtered water, which has permeated through the filter (1), to the outside of the case (3) from the inside of the circular tube of the filter (1); and a discharge flow path (8) for discharging discharge water, which has not been filtered by the filter (1), to the outside of the case (3).
