Abstract:
The present invention pertains to the field of devices for checking the condition of internal combustion engines. This invention more precisely relates to a device comprising electro-pneumatic pressure sensors which are mounted in the engine cylinders and which are connected by a common line to a manometer and an outlet valve. This device also includes a pressure recorder. In the sensor body, the surface area of the annular gap which is defined by the inner diameter of the seats corresponding to the valve end positions, is two to three times larger than the surface area of the outlet channel. The surface area of the annular gap between the valve and the inner cylindrical surface of the body, the surface area of the manifold supply channel as well as the surface area of the channel of the common line, which includes the outlet valve and is connected to a chamber at a similar pressure, are each larger than the surface area of the outlet channel in the engine cylinder. The ratio between the force of the spring and the surface area at the medium section of the seat located towards the chamber where the pressure is to be measured varies from 20 to 50 N/cm?2¿.
