DEVICE FOR PREPARING HOT SNACKS AT HOME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1993/003661
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A device for preparing hot snacks at home comprises a body (1) consisting of two blocks (2), each of them longitudinally provided with two concave cavities (3), said cavities having pick-conveying channels (4) at one end and a hinge (5) at the other end for joining said blocks (2) together, with a pair of arms (6) fastened beneath said pick-conveying channels (4) and having handles (7) in their ends, one of said handles being transversally provided with a ring (8) and the cavities internally provided with grooves (9), and thus the rotation of ring (8) joins the two handles (7) together and consequently closes cavities (3) so that it takes the shape of a loaf of French bread and wherein said device is heated over a fire, consequently heating the snack or the crepe-type kneading dough, and by means of pick-conveying channels (4) a pick (11) is inserted into cavities (3) to penetrate the crepe-type kneading dough.

CLAIMS
1. A device for preparing hot snacks at home, characterized by comprising a body consisting of two blocks (2), each of said blocks being longitudinally provided with two concave cavities (3), said cavities having pick conveying channels (4) at one end and a hinge (5) at the other end for opposingly joining blocks (2) together.
2. A device for preparing hot snacks at home, according to claim 1, characterized in that said blocks (2) are provided with a pair of arms (6) fastened beneath said pickconveying channels (4) and having handles (7) in their ends, one of said handles being provided with a ring (8) which when actuated is coupled to the other handle thus closing the device and consequently cavities (3) so that it takes the shape of a loaf of French bread or a crepetype bread.
3. A device for preparing hot snacks at home, according to claims 1 and 2, characterized by comprising multiplediretion grooves (9) provided within said cavities (3) to allow the snack to be compressed and heated by fire, usually produced by a home stove, and thus the bread is heated or the crefretype kneaded dough is baked and as a result a pick (11) adeheres to the crepetype kneaded dough since it is inserted into cavity (3) by means of pick conveying channels (4).
4. A device for preparing hot snacks at home, according to claims 1, 2 and 3, characterized in that said cavities (3) in association with said multiplediretion grooves (9) make it possible to bake kneading dough for producing crepetype bread.
Description:
"DEVICE FOR PREPARING HOT SNACKS AT HOME"

The present utility model application refers to a device for preparing hot snacks at home which has been developed for the purpose of allowing the user to prepare a hot snack at home.

As it is widely :known by everybody, the currently existing devices for preparing snacks at home which can be found in the market comprise a housing divided into two halves which are individually connected to two arms which are then connected to handles, said handles being provided with a connecting ring for joining said handles together, said connecting ring being slidably positioned so that it can approach the housing and therefore the fire, whereby the device is heated. The way these conventional devices are manufactured do not allow users to heat a whole loaf of traditional French bread, whereby they are compelled to prepare "half a loaf" at a time. Also, these devices are provided with external grooves which make their cleaning difficult and do not allow users to bake crepe-type kneaded dough since they are not provided with internal grooves in the cavities of the housing.

Another negative aspect of the traditional devices is the fact that they are not provided with pick- conveying channels, which picks are inserted into the crepe-type bread thus allowing the production of crepe-type bread provided with a pick which acts as a holder.

Havingi these and others drawbacks in mind, as well as others inconveniences not indicated herein, the inventor developed the present device for preparing hot snaks at home which comprises a housing consisting of two halves individually provided with a pair of concave cavities, said hajlves being joined together by means of a hinge and provided in their ends with arms whose tips are inserted into handles, one of said handles having a fastening ring for coupling the other handle.

In order to provide a more complete understanding of the present utility model, illustrative

drawings are attached hereto, wherein reference numerals are disposed as follows:

Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the device in an open condition; Figure 2 is a perspective view showing the device in a closed condition;

Figure 3 is an enlarged perspective view of the handle showing the handle fastening ring;

•Figure 4 is a cross-sectional view of the device taken along lines "A-A" in Figure 2;

Figure 5 is a longitudinally and partially cross-sectional view of the device concave cavity.

With reference to the drawings, it can be seen that the device comprises a body 1 consisting of two blocks 2 longitudinally provided with concave cavities 3 where a pick-conveying channel 4 at the end of each cavity 3 provides for com unicattion between the cavity and the transversal side end of blocks 2 which are joined together at the other tranpversal end by a hinge 5, wherein at the end opposed thereto and beneath the pick-conveying channels 4 in each block 2 there is an arm 6 provided in its end with anatomically configurated or not cylindrical handles 7 so that one of said handles 7 is transversally and slidably provided with a ring 8 which, when rotated, is coupled to the other handle 7 thus closing blocks 2 and consequently cavities 3 so that it takes the shape of a loaf of French bread or the like, as well as the desired shape of a crepe- type bread.

Still with reference to cavities 3, they are provided with multiple-direction grooves 9 so that wnen cavities 3 are closed the bread contained therein is compressed by grooves 9 and thus the heat from the fire, which is usually a home stove, heats the block and consequently the snack or dough thus producing a crepe-type bread provided with a pick 11 which is inserted into cavities 3 by means of pick-conveying channels 4.

The condition presented by the above mentioned device allows anyone to bake crepe-type kneaded dough, thus

making it possible to fill in same, what can not be done by any traditional device which is not provided with grooves 9 internally disposed in the cavities.

Said device may be constructed in different sizes showing different colors and varied types of material and may even be provided with one, two or more cavities 3 as described herein.

In view of the above description of an embodiment .of the present invention and provided that modifications can be made thereto without diverging from the spirit and scope of the present utility model, I have to claim as follows:
