Abstract:
A device for preventing the adhesion of marine organisms and a method for preventing the adhesion of marine organisms are capable of preventing efficiently and at low cost the adhesion of marine organisms to a ship. A device for preventing the adhesion of marine organisms is provided with a ballast water treatment device (40) which sterilizes ballast water having been taken in, ejection holes (12) which eject the sterilized ballast water, and a pump (P1) which ejects the sterilized ballast water from the ejection holes (12). The ejected ballast water prevents marine organisms from adhering to the ship (100). Preferably, the ejection holes (12) are formed in the bottom (15) of the ship (100).
