Provided is a device for producing glass chopped strands that enables a cutter roller to continuously cut a glass strand by grinding the roughened surface of a rubber roller by just the right amount and maintaining the rubber roller in a uniform smooth state, even in cases where the diameter of the rubber roller has been reduced by the abutment of the cutter roller. This device (100) for producing glass chopped strands comprises: a rubber roller (11); a cutter roller (10) that abuts against the surface of the rubber roller (11) and cuts a glass strand (F) while rotating; and a grinding means (12) that grinds the surface of the rubber roller (11) while moving back and forth in the width direction of the rubber roller (11), and that comes closer to the rubber roller (11) as the diameter of the rubber roller (11) decreases. The state of the grinding means (12) with respect to the rubber roller (11) is made variable such that the grinding amount of the rubber roller (11) per unit time is increased as the diameter of the rubber roller (11) decreases.
