Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for producing, improving, and stabilizing a vacuum (4) in the housing of quickly rotating machines, consisting of the flywheel mass (7) in the housing having the vacuum (4), the shaft (6), the flywheel mass (7), and the superconducting bearing of the shaft (6), wherein a cold surface (9) onto which emitted gas particles (23) freeze is arranged in an advantageous position relative to the flywheel mass (7). The invention has the advantage that the system is a passive system that requires no additional control from outside. The device can use resources already available in the system and offers a certain safety system in case outside gases enter undesirably, because the device can delay a sudden loss of the vacuum. Thus, measures to protect the system can be initiated. The device also offers a more economical alternative to devices that must be permanently attached to the system.
