Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a device for producing methane gas from methane hydrate that reduces energy for methane gas production, can produce, with good energy efficiency, a large amount of methane gas from ground in which methane hydrate is concentrated, has a simple structure, and is profitable with respect to production costs.
[Solution] The device for producing methane gas from methane hydrate produces methane gas from methane hydrate by way of the depressurization method in a dissociation chamber (6) placed on an ocean floor or a lake bottom, discharges residue fluid, such as sea water or lake water in the dissociation chamber (6), to the ocean floor or lake bottom while recovering the methane gas from a gas pipe (5), and generates energy from a water wheel (9) by drawing collected fluid, such as sea water or lake water containing the collected methane hydrate, from a collecting chamber (7) to the water wheel (9) and discharging into the dissociation chamber (6) so that the energy can be applied to drive a pump (8) that reduces the pressure in the dissociation chamber (6) to be below the methane gas dissociation pressure.
