Abstract:
Provided are a device and method that make it possible to suitably produce an organic substance using synthesis gas from a waste gasification furnace. A device 1 for producing an organic substance from waste is provided with a synthesis gas generation furnace 11 that generates a synthesis gas by partially oxidizing waste and an organic substance generation unit 12 that generates an organic substance from the synthesis gas. The organic substance generation unit 12 comprises a synthesis unit 13 that synthesizes the organic substance by using a metal catalyst to subject the synthesis gas to a catalytic reaction and a fermenter 14 that generates the organic substance by performing microbial fermentation of the synthesis gas.
