Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a novel technique capable of inhibiting a reduction in the concentration of hydrogen molecules dissolved in reduced water obtained by electrolytic reduction. [Solution] In an electrolytic bath which is equipped with an anode chamber, a cathode chamber, a diaphragm which is a fluorine-based ion exchange membrane disposed between the anode chamber and the cathode chamber, a porous anode which is disposed in the anode chamber so as to make contact with the diaphragm, and a cathode which is disposed in the cathode chamber, this method for producing reduced water containing hydrogen comprises at least one of: supplying water between the diaphragm and the cathode, and applying, to the cathode, a current having alternating current components in which an average current value at 10 kHz or less is zero or more, to conduct electrolytic reduction of the water and thereby generate hydrogen; and applying, to the cathode, a current having a direct current component to conduct electrolytic reduction of the water and thereby generate hydrogen, and at the same time, applying, to the surface of the cathode, mechanical vibrations within an ultrasonic range of 30 kHz to 10 MHz.
