A device for protecting a thread of a petroleum pipe is provided with an arc-shaped surface attached to a pipe member to be protected, and comprises a radially-centered seal portion (3) and a main body portion (1) surrounding the seal portion (3). The main body portion (1) radially comprises a side wall portion (1-1) and a push-against portion (1-2) that are adjacent and separated by an extension of the arc-shaped surface. The side wall portion (1-1) comprises the arc-shaped surface; and the push-against portion (1-2) is disposed in a radial cantilever manner on the same side where the arc-shaped surface of the side wall portion (1-1) is located. The device can overcome defects in the prior art, has a simple structure, is convenient to prepare, has low cost and a light weight, has a good protection effect on an external thread of an end portion and the opening of the end portion, and has far greater strength than that in the technical solution in the prior art under the condition of the same weight and the same manufacturing cost.
