Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for reading a vehicle license plate number and a method therefor. The device for reading a vehicle license plate number according to the present invention comprises: a division unit for dividing a vehicle license plate image into a plurality of images such that a predetermined area is included in each of the plurality of images; and a distribution management unit for distributing the plurality of divided images to a plurality of reading terminals corresponding to each area and receiving, from each of the plurality of reading terminals, the result of reading the corresponding area. Accordingly, the present invention can distribute images, into which a vehicle license plate is divided, to readers located in different regions, thereby preventing the possibility of violating a driver's privacy and preventing a reader from seeing an image of a driver and a passenger in the passenger compartment of a vehicle.
