Abstract:

The present invention enables an internal combustion engine to function with higher efficiency by further reducing loss. An intake valve is provided to an intake port. A scavenging valve is provided to a scavenging port. An exhaust valve is provided to an exhaust port. The intake valve, the scavenging valve, and the exhaust valve comprise cylindrical and columnar valves. The cylindrical valve is formed so as to have a hollow cylindrical shape. Valve holes are provided to the side surface of the cylindrical valve. The columnar valve is formed so as to have a columnar shape. Valve holes connecting opposing side surfaces are formed in the columnar valve.
