Title:
DEVICE FOR REDUCING THRUST FORCE OF TORQUE CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1987/006990
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Device for reducing a thrust force of a torque converter comprising a pump impeller to which engine power is inputted, a turbine runner connected to a turbine shaft facing the pump impeller, at least one stator impeller, and a stationary cylindrical shaft fitted to the boss of said pump impeller in a liquid-tight state, wherein, facing an oil chamber on which the pressure of hydraulic oil (102) discharged from said turbine runner acts, a seal member (68) which produces such a reaction force (Fj) that offsets a thrust force (Fr) generated in the torque converter is provided in a liquid-tight state between a turbine shaft (30) and a member on the side of the engine, and is secured to the turbine shaft (30) so that the thrust force (Fr) is reduced.
