Title:
DEVICE REDUCING WIND NOISE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/077983
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A passenger riding an open wagon with ears exposed hears wind noise caused by incoming
wind hitting earlobes. A windshield A (1) is installed in front of the ear of a passenger,
and a sound insulating plate (2) is installed between the wind shield A (1) and
an ear hole (5). Since wind coming from the front no longer hits an earlobe (4) by
being intercepted by the windshield A (1), not wind noise is heard. As a side-effect,
the windshield A (1) is vibrated when wind hits the windshield A (1) to produce
a new noise source. This noise is intercepted by the sound insulating plate (2)
and does not reach the year hole (5) of the passenger. Accordingly, all the noises
produced by wind are reduced. Since a large part of an ear is exposed to the atmosphere,
sufficient heat radiation is ensured and surrounding sound is heard without
being attenuated. As required, a windshield B (25) is installed in front of the
windshield A (1), which can downsize and simplify the windshield A (1) and the
sound insulating plate (2).
