Title:
DEVICE FOR SEALING AND INFLATING AN INFLATABLE OBJECT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2002066236
Kind Code:
A8
Abstract:
A device used for sealing and inflating an inflatable object (9), e.g. a tyre (9), provided with an inflater valve (11). The device (1) comprises a compressed gas source (2) and a container (3) with sealant (4). The device (1) further comprises a reversing valve (5) which is provided in a first position for opening up a first connection between the compressed gas source (3) and the inflater valve (11) of the object (9) and in a second position for opening up a second connection between the compressed gas source (2) and the container (3) and between said container and the inflater valve (11) of the object (9). In one mode of operation, the device can be used to inflate an object, which has lost air, to attain a prescribed pressure. In another mode of operation, the device can be used to seal and inflate an object which is no longer tight. As a result, it is no longer necessary for car drivers to transport a heavy and cumbersome spare wheel as is traditionally the case.
