Abstract:
A device for securing the cage of an elevator comprising a rope (6) installed in an elevator shaft (1) while passing around a pulley (8) disposed at the upper part of the elevator shaft (1), a cage (2) suspended at one end of the rope (6), and a weight (3) provided with a driver (7) for elevating&sol lowering the cage (2) and suspended by the rope (6) between the pulley (8) and a weight side rope securing member (11) at the upper part of the elevator shaft (1) secured with the other end of the rope (6) such that the weight (3) ascends (or descends) as the cage (2) descends (or ascends). The device for securing the cage of an elevator further comprises a member (13) provided in any one of the cage (2) and the weight (3) and advancing toward the other or retracting therefrom, and a mechanism (3b) provided in the other and engaging with the advancing&sol retracting member (13) when it advances to lock the cage (2) with the weight (3) in the elevating&sol lowering direction.
