Abstract:
A device for separating water in a cooling tower is made in the shape of a structure lying on the horizontal plane of the cooling tower, wherein said structure is defined by horizontal manifolds (3) extending away from the supply riser (2). The manifolds are connected to distribution ducts (4) having sprayers (5) mounted thereon through the vertical intake risers (6) at several hydrostatic levels. The sprayers (5) mounted on the distribution ducts (4) are supplied with water using the vertical intake risers (6) of various hydrostatic levels and define concentric water-separation bypasses in the body of the cooling tower (1). The vertical intake risers (6) of the second and other hydrostatic levels are fitted with intake pipes having outlets leading into the atmosphere, wherein their presence is defined upon a change in the level in the supply riser of the water to be cooled by the sequential and automatic connection and disconnection of the corresponding water-separation bypasses. This device may be used for the equipment of cooling towers having different structures.
