Abstract:
Provided is a device for stopping a common rail diesel engine, with which the engine phase can be controlled when the engine is stopped so that the next restart can be performed quickly. The stopping device is provided with: an engine phase determination means 42 for determining the engine phase on the basis of the crank angle and camshaft angle; an engine stop position determination means 43 for storing a stopping time ST from the time of an engine stop request until the engine stops, and calculating the engine phase at the time of engine stopping on the basis of the engine phase and the stopping time ST at the time of the engine stop request; and a stop-time injector control means 44 for controlling fuel injected from a fuel injector 16 so that after the engine stop request, the engine phase at the time of engine stopping, as calculated by the engine stop position determination means 43, is such that a piston of a specific cylinder stops at the bottom dead center of the compression stroke.
