Description:
A device for supporting and guiding a machine part along a circular path.

Technical field of the invention This invention relates to a device for supporting and guiding a machine part for swinging it in a part-circular path about an axis of swinging.

Brief description of prior art Machinery within the manufacturing industry that needs a circular swinging motion of a machine part has generally a bow-formed guiding beam. Such a guiding beam must have a radius that is specific for the intended machine.

Object of invention It is an object of invention to provide a device for simple and stable support of a machine part that is to be swingable along a circular path; a device that that can be a standardised part and that need not be specially adapted to each use.

This is fulfilled with a first linear guiding beam arranged transverse to the axis of swinging, a carriage guided on the guiding beam and, a second linear guiding beam turnably supported on the carriage and arranged transversely to the first guiding beam, the machine part being supported by the second guiding beam and being slideable along them.

Brief description of the drawings.

Figure 1 shows, seen from above, a part of a machine in accordance with the invention.

Figure 2 is an enlarged side view seen as indicated by the arrows 2-2 in figure 1.

Figure 3 is a view seen from below of the machine shown in figures 1 and 2 and it is also enlarged as compared to figure 1.

Description of an illustrated and preferred embodiment The figures show a horizontal guiding beam 11 and a machine part 12 that is swingable about the axis of an axle 13. The guiding beam 11 is thus arranged transverse to the axle 13, and it supports the machine part 12 as will be described. Two similar carriages 14,15 are slideable along the guiding beam. They have each an upper part 16,17 with a vertical journal 18,19 in bearings 20,21. The upper part 16,17 carries a short guiding beam 22,23 that extends transverse to the guiding beam 11, and the machine part 12 has two guided parts 24,25 that are movable in the short guiding beams 22,23.

When the machine part 12 is swung about the axis of axle 13, the two carriages 14, 15 will slide along the guiding beam 11 and at the same time, the machine part 12 will slide in the short guiding beams 22,23. Since there are two carriages 14,15 and also two short guiding beams 22,23, the machine part will be very stably supported at the same time as the load on the axle 13 will be low. The device does not depend on the radius from the axis of the axle 13 but can be used for various radiuses of swinging, which permits for the device to be standardised and used in different machines.
