Description of Embodiments of the Invention
This invention concerns a device 1 to be used for exhausting air from a specific, determined, local area A. The air is not wanted in the area A due to the fact that the air is polluted, contaminated or in any way impure. The area A is usually a working area where some work is carried out resulting in some sort of pollution or contamination of the air. The work can for example be related to atomic absorption processes.
The device 1 comprises a body part 2 being the main part of the device 1 that is placed in a room, near to the area A. The body part 2 comprises an inlet 3 leading to a through space 4 inside the body part 2 through which the air is to be exhausted and an outlet 5 leading from the space 4 and through which an exhausting suction power is working on the air and directing the air from the area, through the device 1 , through the body part 2, and further away from the area A.
The body part 2 is preferably made of a pipe, a circular pipe or a cornered extended pipe like body, having a determined length and one first end facing the area and comprising the inlet 3, a second end facing some sort of arrangement for further deliver of the air from the area A this end comprising the outlet 5 and the inside of the body part 2, the pipe, there between constituting the space 4.
The device 1 also comprises a mounting device 6 attached to the body part 2 and to a construction 7 in the room where the mounting device 6 is adjustable to make the wanted, intended, placement of the body part 2 in accordance to the area A and the construction 7 possible. The device 1 is hereby easy to install in the room and also easy to adjust in placement. See Fig. 1-4.
The mounting device 6 comprises at least one axle construction 8 that makes it possible to turn two parts 9 and 10 of the mounting device 6 in relation to each other, round the axle, and thereby the body part 2 in relation to the area A and the construction 7 in at least one plane to make the wanted placement of the body part 2 in accordance to the area A and the construction 7 possible. The two parts 9 and 10 comprise one part 9 attached to the construction 7 and one arm construction 10 to which the body part 2 is attached. See Fig. 1. The mounting device 6 comprises one or two pairs of two cooperating parts 10 + 11 or/and 12 + 13 that can telescope in relation to each other. See Fig. 1 and -3. The mounting device 6 also comprises an openable locking device 14 or/and 15 making it possible to lock the cooperating parts in each pair in wanted position in relation to each other, resulting in wanted placement of the body part 2 and also giving the possibility to make replacements, repositions, of the body part 2. The two mounting parts 10 and 11 , and 12 and 13, are made to telescope in a horizontal respective vertical direction making the mounting device 6 adjustable in two linear directions to make the wanted placement of the body part 2 in accordance to the area A and the construction 7 possible. If wanted just one of the pairs comprising two cooperating parts has to be present in the mounting device 6, see Fig. 1 and 2.
The mounting device 6 is attached to a construction 7 being a wall 16 or a ceiling 17. The mounting device 6 is made from powder coated mild sheet steel. When attached to the sealing, see Fig. 2 and 3, the mounting device 6 comprises two parts
6.1 and 6.2 being placed in a mostly right-angled position in relation to each other. One of them is attached to the sealing and the other one is attacked to the body part 2. The axle construction 8 is placed between the two parts 6.1 and 6.2. At least one of the part 6.1 and
6.2 comprises the previous described two cooperating parts 10 + 11 or/and 12 + 13 that can telescope in relation to each other.
The invented device 1 comprises a hood 18 attached to the inlet 3 of the body part 2 and a hollow part 19 having a first end 19.1 to which the hood 18 is attached and a second end 19.2 attached to the body part 2. The hood 18 is attached to the body part 2 in such a manner that the hood 18 can be moved in relation to the body part 2. The hood 18, the hollow part 19, can telescope in relation to the body part 2.
The hollow part 19 is placed inside the space 4 of the body part 2 and comprises two sliding rings 20, preferably made of Teflon, placed between the body part 2, the inside of the body part 2, and the hollow part 19, the outside of the hollow part 19, to place the body part 2 and the hollow part 19 in stable relation to each other and to make the telescopic movement easy.
The hood 18, the hollow part 19, is attached to the body part 2 by the use of an openable locking device 21 to ensure that the hood stays in the intended position and also can be replaced, repositioned. The hood 18, the hollow part 19, can be circular or cornered. The external form of the hollow part 19 most suitable has correlation to the inside form of the body part 2. The device 1 also comprises a flexible hose 22 attached to the outlet 5 of the body part and, when the device is to be used, to an air duct 23 in which the suction power is created and wherein the hose 22 can be elongated and/or shortened allowing movement of the body part 2 in relation to the duct 23 and the construction 7.
The air to be exhausted can be hot and all parts that will have the risk to get in contact with the hot air can be damaged in some way because of the high temperature and are therefore made of temperature durable materials. It is preferably materials having maximum temperature resistance of 250 °C.
For example the body part 2, the hood 18, the hollow part 19 and the duct 23 are preferably made of anodized aluminium and/or stainless steel and the hose 22 is preferably made of two layers of aluminium having a supporting layer of polyester and a spring steel coil.
To avoid damages and other inconveniencies caused by the hot air on materials in parts further down the airstream, in or after the device 1 , it is suitable that the device 1 comprises a room air inlet 1.1 into the air stream to mix the hot extracted air with cooler room air to reduce the temperature of the extracted air.
The invention also concern a system 24 for exhausting air from a local area A comprising such a device 1 as described here above. See Fig. 4. The system 24 comprises a duct 23 attached to the outlet 5, the hose 22, of the device 1 in which an exhausting suction power is created directing the air from the area A, through the device 1 , from the inlet 3 to the outlet 5. The system 24 also comprises a unit 25 collecting the exhausted air after the air passing through the device 1 and the duct 23. The system also comprises an exhausting suction power creating device 26 connected to the duct 23 for directing the air from the area A, through the device 1 , from the inlet 3, through the through space 4 and to and outlet 5 and further along inside the duct 23.
These descriptions of embodiments of the invention are not to be red as limitations of the invention but shall be used to give complete understanding of the invention. Adjustments being possible for a skilled person will be found within the scope of protection described by the following claims. Different construction described in different embodiments can be mixed freely as long as the wanted effect is accomplished.
