Abstract:
In one implementation, a method for sequence number negotiation between at least one computing device and at least one peer device, wherein the computing device is configured to operate in a standby mode. The method comprises receiving an indication indicating a switchover; initiating a handshake mechanism with the peer device for sequence number negotiation, using at least one synchronization protocol by generating at least two sequence numbers; transmitting the two sequence numbers to the peer devices using at least one synchronization request message; receiving at least one synchronization response message with a sequence number as a response from the peer device; analyze the response received from the peer device; transmit, based on analysis, at least one synchronization acknowledgement message, to the peer device as an indication of a secure session establishment; communicating, by the processor of the computing device, data to the peer device through the secure session established.
