Abstract:
A device for tightening large-sized threaded joints comprises a pressing element (1), a tensioning element (2) and a power wedge (3) with a screw drive. The tensioning element (2) is provided with a wedge slot (10), whereas the pressing element (1) is provided with open slots (13) coaxial to the wedge slot (10), the power wedge (3) passing through the slots (10 and 13). The pressing element (1) represents in itself a hollow casing with the tensioning element (2) mounted inside and carrying an axially rotatable threaded sleeve (16) with a screw hole (17) used for its fixing to the threaded part of the joint. The pressing element (1) is provided with apertures (22) situated around location of the sleeve (16). The walls of the open slots (13) of the pressing element (1) constitute a guide path for the flat working surface (12) of the power wedge (3).
