Abstract:
The invention relates to devices for turbulating and accelerating a flame front, intended for use in technological and energy installations which operate by means of the detonation combustion of gaseous or atomized liquid fuel. Proposed is a device for turbulating and accelerating a flame front, which comprises a housing, provided with a set of obstacles/turbulators, and an ignition source. The set of obstacles/turbulators is in the form of perforated plates installed in cross-sectional planes of the housing, and the outlet of the housing ends with a nozzle. The apertures in neighboring perforated plates are offset from one another. The size of the apertures in all of the perforated plates remains constant or changes in accordance with the distance from the ignition source, and in the first plate the diameter of the apertures exceeds a maximum extinguishing size. The nozzle is subsonic or supersonic. The proposed device provides for quickly creating developed turbulence and a high flame front speed, as well as a rapid increase in pressure within the semi-closed volume of the device housing. As a result, a shock wave is formed having parameters which are sufficient for a rapid and reliable transition from combustion to detonation.
