Abstract:
The invention relates to devices for manually capping glass jar-type containers when home canning. The present device comprises: a single-piece disc valve with a stem; a lid, which has in its middle part a depression with an opening formed in the centre thereof; and a sealing ring positioned between an outer ring and an inner ring on the lower part of the lid. The upper part of the lid has a spherical shape with a convex side facing upward from the lower part of the lid, and the upper part of the disc valve has a spherical shape with the edges thereof lying beyond the edges of a seat of the lid, which has a conical interior shape and is slightly raised above the bottom of the depression in the middle part. The outer ring on the lower part of the lid comprises a lip positioned on the lower edge of said outer ring and oriented toward the inner ring on the lower part of the lid. On the lower outer part of the depression in the lid, around the opening, alternating stops are formed which interact with a projection of said valve.
